A federal courthouse and suburban styled development had split this county seat's downtown area. A new streetscape was planned to tie the disparate areas together and fix long neglected infrastructure problems. Along with facade grants, and restarting a local chamber of commerce, after the new streetscape was implemented, vacant storefronts have filled up, people have returned downtown, and the streets and shops are thriving.
